PRESS: Official: Aeroflot may establish new airline
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot may establish a new airline, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko told newswire RBC on Wednesday.
"Establishment of a new airline is directly linked with jet supply. The Aeroflot group of companies has ordered many aircraft. I do not rule out that the executives of Aeroflot have new ideas in this area," Neradko said.
The official also said that there are no preconditions for bankruptcy of the active airlines in the country, and that the authority is tracking their financial and economic state.
Russia continues cooperation with the air traffic authorities of the friendly states, with international organizations, and continues unofficial contacts with partners in the states that introduced sanctions, which is why the country will prevent sanctions from destroying its civil aviation, he said.
According to Neradko, Russia will replace foreign jets with locally produced planes, while the use of the foreign vessels is considered safe until 2030.
